FASET has welcomed Persimmon Homes as its first Supporter Member. FASET (Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training) is the leading trade association in the temporary safety systems sector. It has been working with Persimmon Homes for the last six months on an initiative to make the use of platform decking systems safer on Persimmon’s sites.
This groundbreaking initiative was instigated by the Persimmon Board following recommendations by its Group Health, Safety and Environment Director, Abigail Bainbridge. It sees FASET train Persimmon's site management personnel via its Platform Decking for Managers course. Additionally, from 01/01/24 all operatives installing platform decking systems on a Persimmon Homes site must hold the FASET Installer’s qualification, evidenced by a Blue Skilled FASET CSCS Card. Persimmon currently requires all installation companies to undertake pre-qualification through a SSiP scheme, and from 01/01/24 will be encouraging installers to undertake this through FASET’s UKAS and SSiP-accredited scheme.
Abigail Bainbridge commented: “We at Persimmon Homes are delighted to be recognised by FASET for our endeavours to make our sites safer. We recognise the benefits of specifying FASET on our sites. By specifying FASET training, FASET CSCS Cards and FASET SSiP Certificates, our sites will become safer and more efficient places to work.
