From Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th September, FASET attended the long-awaited Health and Safety Event at Birmingham’s NEC.
The association was proud to represent the cause of improving workplace safety standards alongside our partners the Access Industry Forum (AIF). FASET appeared with a whole host of other organisations at what proved to be an unmissable opportunity for health and safety professionals to come together, share best practice and explore the latest innovations and trends in the sector.
On Tuesday 7th September, FASET’s Managing Director gave a presentation at the Knowledge Exchange Theatre as part of an expert panel, discussing using the right equipment when working at height.
More about the event
With the UK workforce set to favour a blend of office and non-office working in the future, the central theme of the event was what a post-COVID world looks like for the industry. Workplace and facilities managers are at the heart of that debate and organisations were able to collaborate and share best practice, discussing the wider implications of this shift.
Day one of the three-day event started with ‘FM during the pandemic’ – case studies, lessons learnt, progress made and decisions on the future. This was followed by ‘Building Back Better: wellbeing, climate change and social value’.
Day two began with ‘Data and Digital: how it will influence the future workplace’ and ‘Future of Work’, covering hybrid working alongside how to support working in the new landscape. Speakers included directors and chief executives from a range of organisations.
Day three saw the exploration of ‘New models for procurement’, looking at best practices and building strong commercial relationships. The day ended on the theme ‘Inspiring the next generation of FMs’.
The organisers are getting back to running the event annually in April, so despite it being seven months away, the next Health and Safety Event will take place on 5th-7th April 2022.
