CSCS introduces Prepaid Accounts Facility
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) has launched a new Prepaid Accounts facility. Prepaid Accounts can be loaded with credit and then used to pay for CSCS card applications. This means that CSCS card applications can be submitted without the need to use a debit/credit card.
Prepaid Accounts are available to employers, training providers and other third-party organisations which apply for CSCS cards on behalf of others. They are not available to those making individual applications on behalf of themselves.
CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site. By ensuring the workforce is appropriately qualified, the card plays its part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites.
A warm welcome
CSCS cards and the new Prepaid Accounts facility are warmly welcomed by FASET (Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training). FASET is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes safety within the construction and FM sectors through training and guidance for its members.
Its members include netting and scaffolding suppliers, fall arrest system providers and the No Falls Foundation – to name just a few. Any measures such as the CSCS Prepaid Accounts that make life easier for workers will ultimately contribute to a safer working environment, as those with appropriate skills and qualifications for the industry will benefit from an easier passage to site.
