The UEG AGM on Oct 26th and ‘Rebuild Ukraine’ on Nov 14th and 15th, 2023, are two forthcoming events. The NASC (National Access & Scaffolding Confederation) is the leading trade body for the scaffolding and access industry in the UK. It is also a member of the Union of European Scaffolding Companies (UEG), which represents the interests of the scaffolding industry in Europe. The UEG was founded on October 25, 2008, and has members from Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, France, and Luxembourg.

As part of its commitment to the UEG, NASC has been actively participating in various UEG meetings and events to promote scaffolding standards and cooperation across Europe. In September and October 2023, NASC’s Training Director, David Mosley, and CEO Clive Dickin will attend three important UEG events.

The first event will be the UEG Board meeting and discussions on Scaffold Inspection, scheduled for Thursday, September 14th, and Friday, September 15th, 2023, in Frankfurt, Germany. The meeting will be attended by UEG board members from different countries and experts from the scaffolding industry. The main topic of discussion will be the development of a common European standard for scaffold inspection, which aims to ensure safety and quality for scaffolding users and workers. David Mosley, who is also a UEG board member and Vice President, will share his insights and experience from the UK scaffolding sector, where scaffold inspection is regulated by the Work at Height Regulations 2005. He will also highlight the benefits of NASC’s guidance on scaffold inspection, providing practical advice and checklists for scaffolders and inspectors.

The second event will be the UEG Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for Thursday, October 26th, 2023, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The AGM will be attended by representatives from all UEG member associations and guests from other related organizations. The agenda will include reports from the UEG President, Treasurer, and Secretary, as well as updates from the working committees on technical, social, and marketing issues. The AGM will also feature presentations from external speakers on topics such as digitalization, innovation, and sustainability in the scaffolding industry. David Mosley and Clive Dickin will represent NASC at the AGM, contributing to the discussions and decisions regarding the future direction and activities of the UEG. They will also network with other scaffolding professionals and stakeholders from Europe and beyond.

The third event will be the “Rebuild Ukraine” Conference, scheduled for Tuesday, November 14th, and Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, in Warsaw, Poland. The event will be organized by the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Scaffolding (Polska Izba Gospodarcza Rusztowań), a UEG member association, in cooperation with other partners. The event aims to showcase the potential and opportunities of the Ukrainian construction market and foster business relations between Polish and Ukrainian companies. The event will include an exhibition of scaffolding products and services, as well as a conference with speakers from various fields related to construction and scaffolding. David Mosley will attend the event as a UEG board member, delivering a speech on behalf of the UEG. He will present the vision and mission of the UEG, as well as its achievements and challenges in promoting scaffolding standards and cooperation in Europe. He will also express his support for the development of the Ukrainian scaffolding sector and invite Ukrainian companies to join the UEG.

By attending these UEG events, NASC will demonstrate its leadership and involvement in the European scaffolding industry. NASC will also gain valuable insights and contacts that will benefit its members and stakeholders in the UK. NASC will continue to work closely with the UEG and other partners to advance the interests and standards of the scaffolding industry at home and abroad.
