FASET will bring members and industry partners together this September as falls from height continue to be the leading cause of workplace fatalities in Great Britain.
The FASET AGM, Dinner & Celebration Evening takes place on Thursday 24 September 2026 at Worsley Park Country Club, Manchester, bringing together businesses and professionals from across the safety netting and temporary safety systems industry.
Latest Health and Safety Executive figures show that 31 workers lost their lives following falls from height during 2025/26. While this was an 11% reduction on the previous year, falls from height still accounted for around one in four worker deaths.
It is a stark reminder of the importance of the work carried out by FASET and its members.
Through accredited training, independent auditing, technical guidance and the promotion of best practice, FASET works to improve competence and raise standards across the sector. More than 1,000 candidates are trained through FASET each year, with more than 100 free guidance documents available to industry and a network of more than 65 audited member companies.
Tony Seddon, Managing Director of FASET, said: “Any reduction in workplace fatalities is welcome, but 31 people losing their lives following a fall from height is 31 too many. Our members are doing important work every day to prevent those tragedies. Bringing the industry together gives us the opportunity to share what is working, tackle the challenges we face and keep raising standards. That’s what we want this year’s AGM to be about: useful conversations, member involvement and looking at what we can do collectively to make working at height safer.”
This year’s AGM will place greater emphasis on member participation, with opportunities to share experiences and help shape FASET’s priorities. It will also look ahead to the Association’s 25th anniversary in 2028 and the next chapter for FASET and its membership.
The daytime programme will be followed by FASET’s Annual Dinner & Celebration Evening, bringing members, partners and guests together, with entertainment from comedian Harry Stachini.
The event is supported by a number of long-standing industry sponsors and partners including Nationwide Platforms, Leon de Oro, IPAF, Sunbelt Rentals, Huck Nets, Summit Platforms, Creator Designs and IRC.
Tony added: “We are hugely grateful to all our sponsors and supporters. Several have backed FASET for many years and that continued commitment plays an important part in bringing our industry together.”
