Managing mental health – should this be part of the OSH role?

As the established trade association and training body for the safety netting and temporary safety systems industry, FASET aims to always keep up to date with the latest news from the building access industry. We are pleased to share the following story from the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

The issue of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace is rarely out of the news.

But is it something which should form part of the role of OSH professionals? Or does responsibility lie elsewhere?

This is just one of the questions the IOSH is posing in its 2023 member survey, asking your views on this and many more important areas, including what you think of IOSH membership.

Make a difference

And these views will be used to inform and improve the work of IOSH, to ensure we continue to be the membership body you need it to be.

It is understand that completing the survey is an investment of your time, but previous surveys have led to some big investments in member benefits over the years, including:

  • The IOSH Mentoring scheme
    • The Career Hub
    • IOSH Magazine podcasts, e-newsletter and webinars
    • Removing fees to join additional sector groups
    • Concessionary rates tied into the living wage
    • More direct support for CPD and the IPD pathway
    • Improved customer service response rates
    • And a better virtual events offer

Take the survey – and win a prize!

This survey is being conducted independently on behalf of IOSH by Enventure Research. If members have any issues in receiving this email or have any questions about completing or accessing the survey, they can call the Enventure Research Survey Helpline on 0800 0092 117 or email helpline@enventure.co.uk

The survey only takes up to 15 minutes to complete. By taking part, members can be entered into a prize draw to win a top prize of a £250 online gift card, or one of five £50 runner-up gift cards, that can be used at a range of outlets.

So, don’t delay. Make sure you complete the member survey before it closes at 20:00BST on Sunday 9 July and help to shape the future of IOSH membership and the profession.
