We strive to achieve extremely high standards with our training and guidance and that is shown through our trusted and reliable contractors, manufacturers and trainers in the industry. Being a FASET member is a symbol of trust and ensuring complete peace of mind when businesses choose our members to partner with. All members undergo a rigorous audit which is now accredited by SSiP and is therefore mutually recognised with other health and safety assessment schemes.
FASET Members work collectively to create a great amount of free to access guidance which can be downloaded from this website. The guidance created provides good practices for contractors and provides understanding of the industry for clients.

FASET Safety Net Rigger Training
This is the central course offered by FASET, designed for all operatives looking to become qualified to install safety nets. Safety netting is a life-critical industry and as such, demonstrating competence is a thorough process.
This exciting new area of our industry provides a tensioned working area for a range of follow on trades, allowing for maintenance work and the like to be carried out without the need for specialist access techniques or equipment such as birdcage scaffolding.
It involves tensioning a “material” between the structural members, creating a strong and stable platform from which workers can carry out their work. A number of different systems are becoming available, each using different materials and attachment systems. FASET has undertaken to have a test rig manufactured to ensure that each of these systems are capable of providing a safe working platform for all trades.Read more

This committee was formed to discuss the needs for increased guidance on roof height temporary edge protection and create a suitable, recognised training course.
Although the work on this is complete for the time being, the committee remains in place so the course and industry developments can be reviewed and changes made when necessary.
The course covers the safe installation of an edge protection system to an engineer’s design, and the relevant standards associated with temporary edge protection.

When all other methods of installing safety netting underneath a fragile roof have been exhausted, it may be necessary to over-net the roof with a safety net.
FASET have worked closely with the HSE and NFRC to develop guidance on this form of safety netting based upon physical testing. Please contact FASET if you have any questions with regards to this type of work.
Remember: FASET recommend that this form of safety netting should only be used as a last resort, and standard underslung safety netting should always be used where possible.Read more
As the house-build industry goes from strength to strength, contractors are increasingly looking for a system which provides collective access for builders at eaves height, enabling them to work both within and outside of the structure. Access Platform Decking combines quick installation, with strength, allowing users to safely access, work from and load the decking with materials.
The committee is currently working to develop guidance and training on these specialist systems which will undoubtedly become more commonplace. Please visit this section of the website regularly for updates on progress.Read more

Every piece of guidance published by FASET is designed to do just that, and any company that ignores that guidance is potentially putting their employees at risk."
"My company insists on using only FASET member organisations whose employees have been FASET trained, adhere strictly to FASET guidance and, crucially, are regularly audited to ensure that they meet the demanding standards of the Association. Safety netting and temporary safety systems training is paramount"
