Carillion Specify FASET Members
Support services and construction company Carillion is currently renewing its list of approved safety net installers and has been applauded by the FASET Board for choosing to work with the most qualified and safest netting companies.
To ensure it has the best on its list, Carillion made the decision that it will only appoint FASET approved safety net installers.
FASET is the trade association and training body for all International safety net and fall arrest companies. In order to become a FASET member, companies must first pass a rigorous audit to ensure management systems are in place, operatives are trained to the highest safety netting standards including the NVQ and that all the nets used are compliant to EN 1263-1.
Julia Fancourt, Carillion’s Relationship Category Manager, has led this latest project. Julia approached FASET direct with an open invitation for all their members to apply to become a Carillion approved installer.
This move has been welcomed by FASET especially as they are just about to launch a new marketing campaign about the five golden rules of safety netting and the benefits of appointing FASET approved installers over others who may not hold recognised netting qualifications, EN standard nets or the correct management processes to ensure the robustness and safety of the installations.
Carillion’s application process is also a thorough and demanding process. As well as the paper application, Simian Risk Management carries out an independent audit at the applicant’s offices for Carillion. Only once this is completed and the audit results are presented to Julia will any decision be made regarding the approved list.
This may be a tough process for the safety netting companies but Carillion will be confident that it has appointed the best of the best.
