The use of powered access such as MEWPs when installing and un-installing nets is common place and is second in FASETs Recommended Hierarchy for Work at Height (click here).
IPAF, the International Powered Access Federation have produced a series of “spot the mistake” videos, encouraging users to ensure that they work in the safest possible way at all times and don’t forget the seemingly small things which can result in serious injury or a fatality.
Accidents in MEWPs is a serious issue and one which is becoming happening more and more. FASET recommend that all safety net riggers using powered access receive full and proper training from an IPAF certified Training centre and ensure that you have the correct training for the type of machinery to be used.
